Nowhere-Near-New Book Reviews Inc. presents a review of
iPhone Advanced Projects
By like, 12 different dudes (the book, not the review).
First off, I like the episodic, project-y nature of this book. It reads like a dozen better-than-average blog posts.
The “advanced” part in the title is a bit of an overstatement. Which is either good news or bad news depending on how advanced you are. They’re never overly technical, and none of them focus on design patterns or any of that meta crap that is what actually makes good programmers good. That said, the reason this review is appearing now, a year after I bought it, is that I’ve re-cracked the spine to do the Core Data project and I’m pretty stoked on it. Worth the price.
